Description

DSIP Vial — Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide for Chronobiology Research (10mg)

What is DSIP?

Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide (9 amino acids) first isolated from the brain tissue of rabbits during slow-wave sleep studies. It is a neuropeptide found in the brain and peripheral tissues of many mammalian species.

DSIP is investigated for its role in sleep-wake regulation, circadian rhythm entrainment and stress-related neuroendocrine modulation. It is one of the earliest characterised sleep-related peptides and continues to be studied in chronobiology and neuropharmacology research.

Mechanism of Research Interest

  • Sleep-Wake Modulation: Studied for effects on slow-wave (delta) sleep architecture and sleep quality parameters in animal models.
  • Circadian Regulation: Research examines interactions with the hypothalamic systems that coordinate circadian rhythmicity.
  • Neuroendocrine Crosstalk: DSIP is investigated for modulatory effects on stress hormone axes and pituitary signalling.

Research Applications

  • Sleep architecture and delta wave research
  • Circadian rhythm and chronobiology studies
  • Stress response and neuroendocrine modulation
  • Neuropeptide signalling research

  • Classic Neuropeptide: Well-documented research compound for chronobiology studies.

Reconstitution Guidelines

For experienced laboratory personnel only. This lyophilised powder must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water prior to research use.

  • Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25°C) before reconstitution.
  • Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry.
  • Using a sterile syringe, add the required volume of Bacteriostatic Water by injecting slowly down the inner wall of the vial — do not aim the stream directly at the lyophilised cake.
  • Gently swirl the vial until the powder is fully dissolved. Do not shake vigorously, as this can denature the peptide.
  • Visually inspect the reconstituted solution — it should be clear and free of particulate matter.
  • Store reconstituted solutions at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe defined in your research protocol. Discard any unused solution after the recommended period.
