Description
GHK-Cu Vial — Copper Tripeptide for Tissue Remodelling Research (100mg)
What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide composed of glycine, histidine and lysine (Gly-His-Lys). It was first isolated from human plasma and is found in tissues, saliva and urine. The peptide forms a stable complex with copper ions (Cu²⁺), and it is this complex that carries out its biological activities.
The GHK-Cu complex is studied extensively for its effects on collagen production, wound healing and tissue remodelling. As a copper chaperone, it delivers copper to enzymes that require the metal as a cofactor, including those involved in extracellular matrix synthesis and antioxidant defence.
Mechanism of Research Interest
- Collagen Synthesis: Stimulates the production of collagen and other extracellular matrix components in fibroblast cell models.
- Copper Delivery: Functions as a copper transport peptide, modulating the activity of copper-dependent enzymes such as superoxide dismutase and lysyl oxidase.
- Tissue Remodelling: Influences the balance of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their inhibitors (TIMPs), regulating matrix turnover.
- Antioxidant Signalling: Upregulates antioxidant gene expression, reducing oxidative stress markers in cell models.
Research Applications
- Collagen and extracellular matrix research
- Wound healing and tissue repair models
- Skin and dermal remodelling studies
- Copper metabolism and enzyme research

- Tissue Remodelling: Modulates MMP/TIMP balance for matrix turnover studies.
- Antioxidant Signalling: Upregulates antioxidant gene expression in cell models.
Reconstitution Guidelines
For experienced laboratory personnel only. This lyophilised powder must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water prior to research use.
- Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25°C) before reconstitution.
- Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry.
- Using a sterile syringe, add the required volume of Bacteriostatic Water by injecting slowly down the inner wall of the vial — do not aim the stream directly at the lyophilised cake.
- Gently swirl the vial until the powder is fully dissolved. Do not shake vigorously, as this can denature the peptide.
- Visually inspect the reconstituted solution — it should be clear and free of particulate matter.
- Store reconstituted solutions at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe defined in your research protocol. Discard any unused solution after the recommended period.
